Smart Grid, a concept merging powers systems, computer sciences and communication systems is today a keyword shared by all the researchers of the world. The study of REIs relies on experimental platforms. They are essential for research validation, but the complexity and multi-physical and multi-scale nature of REIs, requires sophisticated real-time co-simulations. It means that the development of these platforms now goes far beyond the engineering stage to move towards research approaches.
